Pantomime Auditions Announced

auditions for cinderella
Halton dance groups are being urged to audition for Cinderella - this year's Halton Borough Council panto at The Brindley.

Unlike previous years, newly appointed company Pelé Productions is looking for dancing schools to audition as a group, to include both junior and senior dancers. This spectacular pantomime will run from Friday 9 December to Sunday 8 January 2012 with schools performances taking place during the first and last week.

Dance schools should prepare two routines of no more than two minutes long, one to include ballet. Suitable backing music should be selected by individual dance schools and be brought to the audition on a CD.

Last year the venue was five percent more full than the previous year's Halton Borough Council event.cindrella dance

With the introduction of an early bird ticket offer and the promise of star names, a fabulous set and costumes the Council hopes to break all previous panto box office records (oh yes they do!).

Tickets for Cinderella are now on sale with an early bird offer on all tickets booked before 31 July. For further details contact the box office on 0151 907 8360 or log onto www.thebrindley.org.uk.

Dance groups will be seen individually and will need to book an appointment time.

Maximum height for juniors 4’10” Minimum height for seniors 5’3

The auditions will be at The Brindley, on Sunday 19 June.

A record 14,000 enjoyed Aladdin over the whole run last year and organisers are hoping to do even better this time around.

With a track record for producing spectacular traditional pantomimes across the country Pelé Productions’ husband and wife team, James and Viv Wells, will present this year’s glittering production.

IU Contemporary Dance Program

The IU Contemporary Dance Program offers a collection of dance experiences that are accessible to students who seek serious study in the art of dance. The program's core offerings consist of curricula which, through the highest quality of training and instruction, strengthen and refine contemporary dance technique as well as provide scholarly inquiry into the history, science and aesthetics of dance. The faculty of the IU Contemporary Dance Program strives to not only teach, but mentor, and provide a strong theoretical base from which each dancer can grow and work as an individual artist. Students are encouraged to seek their own venue for expression, such as performance, choreography, teaching, production or scholarship, and prepare for a successful career in the professional and academic field of dance.Contemporary Dance
