Chicago Luvabulls to host auditions on August 13, 2011

The Chicago Luvabulls will conduct auditions for its 2011-2012 team on Saturday, August 13 at the United Center.

The selected team of dancers will perform at all Chicago Bulls home games next season as well as many special events and charity fundraisers throughout the year.

Several hundred candidates are expected to show their talents to a panel of judges including former Luvabulls dancers, Bulls representatives and local media members.

At the end of the initial auditions, a group of 30-40 dancers will be selected to move forward to a mandatory training camp.

  • Perform internationally in such places as Holland, England, Costa Rica, France, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Italy and China

Requirements

  • The time of auditions a participants must be at least 21 years
  • Participants must be completed a high school graduate
  • Must be employed full-time or be a student with part-time employment
  • Must reside in the Chicagoland area and have a reliable means of transportation

Audition Dates Announced For Open Mic UK Singing Competition

Audition dates have been announced for Open Mic UK singing competition for the 2011 Open Mic music competition, with over 9,000 entrants last year the 2011 competition is set to be the biggest yet!

Open Mic UK is the biggest national music competition for singers and also solo artists in the UK, the competition travels across the country every year in search of the UK's greatest singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists. This competition open to all genres, so whether you’re into R’n’B, Rap, Acoustic, Pop or Classical – Open Mic UK has it all! Acts can present either covers or original material and they’ll be invited to a live audition in front of the judging panel.

Those who make it through the audition stage will go on to give their performance across the UK in Live shows, in front of an audience and judging panel, for the chance to sing at the Grand Final.
There are ample of opportunities to win prizes throughout the competition. As well as over £50,000 worth of prizes up for grabs and the winning act will be offered a development and management contract to develop their music. Competing acts will also have the possibility to perform live in some of the best music venues in the country.

Auditions for 'Jekyll & Hyde' Musical, Aug.

Open auditions for the Tony Award-nominated musical “Jekyll & Hyde,” opening the 2011-2012 seasons at Sturges Center for the Fine Arts, have been announced for August. Eleven main and small roles, plus ensemble members, are open. An income for all roles is available.

An audition starts at 6-10 p.m. Aug. 3 at Sturges Center, 780 N. E St., San Bernardino. Sign-ups initiate at 5:30 p.m. Call back auditions are start at 6-10 p.m. Aug. 4, also at Sturges Center. Those auditioning are asked to bring a copy of their latest headshot with attached resume, and have prepared 32 bars of a musical theater piece, reflecting the style of the show.

Actors auditioning for a particular role will be asked to sing a song from the show. An accompanist will make available. Singers are asked to take their sheet music in the correct key. Music and selected scenes from the show will be present at the audition for the call back.

Rehearsals will be start from Sept. 12 to Oct. 13 at Screenland Studios in Burbank.

Performances are held on Oct. 14-16 at Sturges Center. The production is an arrangement by the City of San Bernardino Economic Development Agency.

A production team whose experience and background includes award-winning stage shows, television series and films has been assembled for the show.
