National Arts Council (NAC) Busking Scheme

Applicants are required to showcase a snippet of their busking act with all relevant instruments and equipment.

The audition panel will be assessing all applicants on the following: National Arts Council (NAC) Busking Scheme

  • Competency and skill in performance
  • Expression and confidence in performance
  • Engagement with the audience
  • Innovation and originality

Eligibility

  • All Singaporeans,
  • Permanent Residents, or
  • Employment Pass holders, with approval/endorsement from the Ministry of Manpower to undertake busking activities.

Procedure

Complete a busking application form & send it back to the following address:

You will receive call to inform you of the date & time for the audition.

Pre-registration for the audition is required.

Auditions will be held on the following dates from January 2011:-

  • 5 January 2011 (Wednesday)
  • 1 April 2011 (Friday)
  • 6 July 2011 (Wednesday)
  • 7 October 2011 (Friday)

Busking Item

Singing, Music Playing, Mime or other suitable theatrical acts, Dance, Acrobatic Acts, Juggling, etc. Portrait drawing, caricature drawing, face-painting etc.

Instrumental and Voice Audition

Instrumental

Select your audition date by completing the Supplemental Application to the School of Music.

  • Instrumental: Saturday, March 19, 2011, Friday, March 25, 2011
  • Voice: Friday, April 22, 2011, Friday, April 22, 2011
You will be sent an e-mail one week prior to the audition date you selected with more information about your audition schedule.The audition repertoire must be selected to meet the requirements for your particular instrument or voice. (See Audition Requirements.)

In order to be considered for Merit Based Scholarship from the School of Music students must audition on or before March 25, 2011, and have completed the online application for scholarship by March 12, 2011 www.kennesaw.edu/scholarships. Students are also strongly urged to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be considered for the full range of awards available. Students selected for scholarship award will be notified in mid April.

You will receive notification (by e-mail) of your status with the School of Music within two weeks of your audition.Note: Students completing their auditions after March 25, 2011 will be considered for Fall 2011 admission only if space is still available in the program.

Auditions On Friday 25 March 2011, 4-8pm crew and solo battle auditions will be held for an opportunity to compete at the official Liverpool Youth Week event Street Legacy. This is a free youth event held on Saturday, 9 April, 2-10pm at The Street University, 1 Speed Street, Liverpool. Triple Threat Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament on Saturday, 2 April, 10am-4pm enjoy an action packed day of entertainment to celebrate Youth Week 2011 at The Street University, 1 Speed Street, Liverpool. The free youth event includes three-on-three mixed basketball competitions, games, live music featuring local rappers, break-dancers and DJs. A free sausage sizzle will be provided and plenty of prizes including vouchers and basketball give-aways to be won on the day.

Submit and Register Now! Music Festival Submissions now being accepted. To all artists looking to apply for a showcase at the Americana Music Festival; great news! Submissions are now open! The 12th annual Americana Music Festival and Conference will be held Wednesday, October 12th through Saturday, October 15th, 2011 at many premiere venues in Nashville, TN. Applications for this year's event will be accepted through Monday, April 18th, 2011.

The EX-eter Factor

The EX-eter Factor

Do you have a hidden talent? Are you a budding singer, dancer, comedian, magician or musician?
If so then The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor 2010-11 would like to hear from you!

The Lord Mayor will be holding Auditions on Saturday 9 April 2011 from 12.45 pm - 5.15 pm at The Corn Exchange for his talent competition called The EX-eter Factor! Successful entrants will be put through to the main show which will take place on Sunday 24 April 2011 at 7.30 pm where they will perform at Exeter Northcott Theatre .

There are cash prizes up for grabs - the winner will receive £250, the second prize will be £150 and £100 for third.

There will be an entry fee for the auditions of £2 per person (£1 for under 16's) to be paid at the Corn Exchange and anyone interested in coming along and showing off their talents should complete an Audition Registration Form beforehand to book their place. Copies are also available from the Civic Centre, Paris Street or by contacting the Lord Mayor's office on 01392 265525.

Drumline Auditions

Students should attend as many of the following camps as possible. The audition date will be Saturday, April 30, 2011. If you have a conflict with this date, please contact the band office by e-mailing bands@illinois.edu to possibly arrange an alternate date. Important Dates for Drumline Prospects Camps:

Saturday, April 9, 2011 (also annual Drumline Clinic Day)
Saturday, April 30, 2011 (Audition Day)

All camps are held outside the Harding Band Building.

While it is to the student's benefit to attend as many of the camps as possible, missing a camp date due to a serious conflict will not hurt a student's chance of being selected for the drumline. No prepared solo is necessary for the drumline audition. April 30 is the formal audition date.

Students should make every possible effort to take the audition on the formal audition date.

WCU Dance Team

WCU Dance Team

Auditions for the 2011-12 WCU Dance Team will be held on-campus beginning Friday, April 8 through Saturday, April 9, and will set the roster for the 2011-12 football or basketball squads.

The tryout - which is open to any incoming Western Carolina student or current WCU students in good academic standing - begins with a three-hour session on April 8 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, and will continue on Saturday, April 9 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Both days are required.

The auditions include two routines; one pom and one hip hop/technique. Anyone who is unable to attend the tryout dates may submit a video tryout. Videos must be received by Friday, April 8th at 5:00 pm.

Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids

Roberta Jones Junior Theater 2011 Auditions.

Young aspiring performers, ages 6-13, will have the chance to shine in this exciting production of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids. Participants will receive training in acting, singing, and dancing as they prepare their own musical production! Participants are responsible for providing their own costumes and black, soft-soled dance shoes. Everyone who registers in the “Springboard Musical Theater” class will be cast in the show! Please register in the class before attending auditions.

Auditions: Tuesday, April 5, 3:30-6:30 p.m

Callbacks: Thursday, April 7, 3:30-6:30 p.m. (Only some will attend).

Marching Illini wind auditions last approximately 10 minutes. Candidates must prepare the same list as on the main auditions page:

  • Two scales of your choice, plus chromatic scale throughout your workable range
  • 2-minute prepared work (solo, etude, excerpt, concerto, etc. -- but just 2 mins. of it)
  • Sight reading.

Boys dance audition

Elite Dance Academy

Elite Dance Academy will conduct auditions 10 a.m. March 12 for boys ages 5-12 for its New Boy’s Dance Crew.

Date: March 12

Venue: 9059 W. Lake Pleasant Parkway, Building H, at the corner of 91st Avenue and Lake Pleasant Parkway.

Selected candidates will receive a 50 percent scholarship for dance instruction, starting with hip-hop. Previous dance training is not required.

The Scarlet Pimpernel auditions

The Scarlet Pimpernel auditions will be Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in the Murray High Choir Room and Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in the Murray High Band Room from 7:00pm to 9:00pm each night. Under the direction of Karyn Tucker, the show will be presented June22-30 in the Murray Park Amphitheater. Come prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a Broadway song. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring the music; no tapes or a'cappella auditions. Be prepared to present a monologue and wear comfortable clothing for choreography. Callbacks will be Saturday, March 12, by invitation.

Woodlands New Media Champions (NMCs) are back with Woodlands Talent 2 which promises to be BIGGER, BETTER and a whole lot of FUN!

If you possess talent(s) in any form (Singing, dancing, magic, bands, absolutely any form of talent), Woodlands Talent 2 allows you to take the stage and shine in both the VIRTUAL and the REAL world.

Participants who join in any of the available Family Category will be entitled to bonus points!
Woodlands Talent 2 registration and e-audition ends on 4 March 2011.

Finals will commence on 27 March 2011 at the open field beside Woodlands Civic Center.

Winners of the Woodlands Talent 2 competition will win:
1st prize: $1000
2nd prize: $500
3rd prize: $300

Viewers’ Choice Award: $150 (The audition video that gets the most "Likes" in YouTube by 11th March 2011 will be the winner)
