The State Opera holds general auditions each year for chorus (as required), minor principal artists, cover roles and young artists. The auditions take place in The Opera Studio, State Opera, 216 Marion Road, Netley 5037.
This year, chorus auditions for mezzos (altos), tenors and basses only are scheduled for Thursday 4 November. State Opera will NOT be auditioning sopranos this year.
Auditions are by resume only and not guaranteed. To apply for an audition, mail your CV together with current photograph to the Debra Pahl, Auditions Coordinator, State Opera of SA, PO Box 211, MARLESTON SA 5033 no later than 29 October 2010. Enquiries can be directed to email.
Auditionees must prepare two arias, both non-English. State Opera of SA will provide an accompianist for every audition however auditionees are welcome to bring their own if preferred. Auditionees who elect to use our accompanist are required to provide copies of their music (no plastic sleeved or unbound sheet music is accepted).
