Auditions kicked off Tuesday in New Jersey.

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are the new judges.

Our celebrated Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are settling into their "American Idol" judging seats quite nicely

"It's grand to be rear on "American Idol. "The judges were immense."

When she announced her original gig before this month, the 40-year-old Lopez — who is earning a cool $12 million — said: "I'm looking for the subsequent Michael Jackson."

Tyler, 62 said that "We're confident to send some populace back with wrecked hearts. But we should cross those wreck heart people in our career, by bringing out the young talent out there, it's going to be tough. But it's also going to be pleasurable, because they're stepping up to the plate, and so are we."
